Affordable Certified Organic Grain & Produce ~ Growing healthy food for you since 2007 !
Welcome to Heritage Harvesters!
We are a NOFA-NY certified sustainable organic farm located in King Ferry, NY just a few miles east of Cayuga Lake in the Fingerlakes region of central New York. We work over 200 acres of land and we give back to it the way nature intended by NOT using treated seed, GMOs, pesticides on any of our crops or in the soil, farming like our parents and grandparents did! You can buy our grains and vegetables at our Farm Store on Route 34B just south of the village of King Ferry. You can also find us at several local farmer's markets on the weekends.
What We Grow
Certified Organic Grain
Our grain is available in bulk purchase or in small quantities for home milling and sprouting. We mill quantities of our winter and spring wheat for flour to sell, and can hull and crack corn by the order. Special attention is paid to harvesting and drying the grain to ensure the best quality for our customers, be they home bakers or organic dairy cows. We always save part of our harvest each year for planting the next season. We grow a variety of grains in our certified organic fields:

Certified Organic Produce
We grow an increasing amount and range of organic vegetables in our fields and greenhouse, which we make available to you at our farm stand from July until October. We also sell at the Union Springs Farmer's Market, the King Ferry Farmer's Market and the Friday Farmer's Market at the Triphammer Marketplace from the end of May until September/October. Some of the vegetables we have started or planned for the 2013 season are: tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuces, radishes, kale, swiss chard, beets, turnips, sweet corn, green and yellow beans and more. When the growing season comes to an end we carefully store a quantity of root vegetables, including beets, turnips, and potatoes (new in 2013!) which, along with our grain, are available for purchase all winter long in our farm store.

Bulk Ordering
We happily sell boxed and bulk orders of assorted vegetables and/or grains by request to local restaurants, stores, or for your canning, freezing, milling (or brewing!) needs. A quantity of our grain is bought for resale by Greenstar in Ithaca, and Lansing Market. |
About Our Farming Methods
Farming tools
We like to farm with our antique Farmall equipment, mostly International Harvesters (aka IH). We have a 1954 Farmall 300, 1967 IH 656, 1953 Farmall "C", and a 1956 IH Combine. We find that machinery and implements from the past work just as well, if not better, than what can be bought new today.
